SQUARE with ANDROID Detailed installation instructions - WORTH IT.

Easily customizable scanner with easy Bluetooth connectivity. Due to the ability to insert characters before and after the barcode, I think this scanner makes using barcodes in Square on Android pretty easy, and its potential has yet to be unlocked with help from the manufacturer - more info below. Reads codes well, even from shiny bottles. . Sometimes skips the initial read if idle for more than a few minutes, but that's in manual trigger mode and I haven't tried auto-induction mode, where it'll probably live. Square doesn't support barcode scanning in Android. Even the scanners they recommend are cumbersome at best. This scanner can overcome most difficulties with some tweaks; Unfortunately, Square doesn't support necessary navigation with crawlers unless you're already doing a search. Limited but maybe 1/4 keystrokes from other scanners I tried a few years ago. I have a request to the manufacturer for a feature that will make this even more consistent. I am sure if it is possible they will find a way. Details Square + Android: Prepare the database First, you need your product information to include the product barcode in the SKU field in Square. Hope it's ready. Maybe a project if you haven't already. Download the product list in Excel format. Sort the list to make inventory easier. Place your cursor on the SKU field in Excel and start scanning the barcode for each item. When delivered, this scanner should fill in the field and then press "Enter" for you. All you have to do is go through the list and scan each item in turn. When you're done, import your spreadsheet back into Square to update your items, and the SKU will magically be where it belongs (don't change the Square item reference numbers or you'll have duplicate items). Now set up your scanner for use in Square with Android as follows: General scanner settings Instant download. Speed 060. (Required to have time to search until the "Pause" character is developed). Disable the trailing character. Delete old settings. insert icon. Clear attitude. Set to Simple Sequential Square Scan Insert Symbol. All Barcode Types.Data Group 2.Before Barcode.r_Shift On.Home.Back Space.Save Setting. Set an item to be automatically selected after scanning. Insert an icon. All types of barcodes. Data group 3. After the barcode. (break in drawing after development) Tab Tab Use the scanner by selecting the search icon in Square and making sure your cursor is in the search box. SCAN ARTICLE. If you have options, you should see the page with the correct option (unless your crawler was faster than the search - so a speed of 60 or a pause character is required). Select the add manually button. The item should be added to the cart and you should return to the search box. The search box will contain the code you just scanned - IGNORE IT - Keep scanning the next item. As long as the cursor is in the search field at the end of the last code, your scanner should be set to delete that and replace it with the next code you scanned and automatically select a new search result! This is a much easier way to use Square with Android. For only $75. You just saved it in headache medicine. It's worth it!
