Updated from Board 3 just because I'm a dirty consumer who loves the latest toys and I can say the sound quality has definitely improved! JBL is still my customer of portable speakers and almost all of my friends also own jbl products. They are built to last and sound great. Unless you're a big audiophile you're probably better off buying a Charge 3 or Charge 4 to save money, but I'll say I can tell a difference in sound quality.
