I bought one of these and fitted it to my race car with the engine off (just in case the OEM worked fine). For my first few sessions at the track it seemed to be working great until one day it stopped opening causing my car to overheat during the warm up lap, my car going into limp mode and stalling. Luckily I was able to remove the thermostat and the spring is only held in place by a couple of screws (which also makes me doubt the durability of the thermostat). The screws allowed me to easily remove the thermostat so mine was always fully open. Which is normal for a racing car. My advice: don't waste your money on this, take out your original if you need a replacement. If it's a street car, just replace it with an OEM.
