I bought two of these sensors for my Honeywell top and bottom thermostats. I was hoping I could program the stats to turn off the heating cycle at night and then turn on the system to restore the set temperature without using any extra heat. It works, but only from 40 degrees. If the temperature is below 40, the auxiliary heater will turn on when the set temperature is 2 degrees above the ambient temperature. I found that when the outside temp was below 40 I had to revert to a set temperature to avoid having the extra heater turn on which meant I had to control the outside temp. So I couldn't program. A little extra statistical software functionality from Honeywell could make these sensors much more powerful. I gave 4 stars as they really work as advertised.
