
You'll have a heck of a time to remove this if you've never changed it on this car. You basically need to remove the 2001 Escape's three mounting bolts, mounting bracket and cooling shroud, then figure out how to properly maneuver the generator ONLY to remove it from the frame and rack/drive assemblies, and do that AFTER removal. Drive axle on the passenger side. If you're patient it will do, but it's like a breech baby. The generator itself appears to be of good quality and so far (3 weeks) have had no performance complaints.
