Revainrating 3 out of 5

When we received the cover we were satisfied with the good quality of the tarpaulin.

This cover has been on our new van for about 2 months. We are new to camping on wheels having bought our first 5th bike in November. When we received the coating we were pleased with the good quality of the canvas. We followed the instructions and watched a few YouTube videos before attempting to light our RV. It's definitely a job for at least two people. And one of those guys can't resist the vertical like I'm 5 feet tall! Even with the extensions, I didn't get to the top. So, soon I was on the roof, pulling it front to back! After the RV was covered, we connected all the straps and tightened appropriately. Unfortunately there has been a lot of wind in Maryland this winter. Two weeks ago it was crazy with gusts over 60mph. By the end of the weekend our cover was torn from top to bottom and the cover was sliding off one side. We went to assess the issue within an hour. Unfortunately, the damage has already been done. The tarpaulin was completely torn and one of the belt buckles was thrown against the camper by the wind and left some nasty scratches on the camper. As I mentioned we are new to the camping world but we have a friend who has his own 5th wheel and has been camping for years to review our work when we are done with it and he said that we " did a great job as newbies !'" When he saw the cover after it ripped off he was surprised at how it had ripped. The material/fabric will hold up better than it actually does. Of course we all know Murphy's Law. We didn't have much snow or ice this winter so we weren't too concerned about finding new shelter, we figured it was almost spring and we were clean and going on our first trip in April, so go with that in mind we're going to have a foot of snow in the next 24 hours!oh well I guess we'll be looking for another cover in the fall!
