Firstly I think whether you like these knives or not depends on why you want damask knives; Beauty or functionality? If you like the distinctive textured design of damascus blades, you'll likely be disappointed with this set. If you're looking for knives made from Damascus steel because you've heard that knives made using this process are stronger and stay sharper longer (which, to my surprise, has mostly been true so far), then you probably want this set a lot. These knives have the functionality of damascus knives without looking ostentatious. There is a wavy vortex pattern, but very, very faint. The design reminds me of a beautiful moiré fabric. These are good quality knives too - they are very sharp and will keep their blade sharp even after repeated use. The handles are comfortable to hold and feel solid and sturdy. The set is packed in a very nice box, ideal as a gift.
