It didn't go well with the body

I have a 2003 Ford E-250 and the side door latch broke. The original part is plastic which has remarkably lasted 17 years but initially I was happy with ordering these metal replacement parts. My main complaint is that they don't match the plastic sheath that surrounds the cable. I had to stick a large screwdriver in the slot and disassemble it by hitting the screwdriver with a hammer. I even shaved off some of the plastic wrap to make it fit. Compare that to what happened two weeks later. We were driving out of state when the back door stopped working. I had to buy this part at an auto parts store. It was a different brand (Dorman) and slipped easily over the plastic sleeve. It fits perfectly with no installation problems. If you need these parts, go to your local auto parts store and buy a Dorman part instead.
