It didn't go well with the body

I have a 2003 Ford E-250 and the side door latch broke. The original part is plastic which has remarkably lasted 17 years but initially I was happy with ordering these metal replacement parts. My main complaint is that they don't match the plastic sheath that surrounds the cable. I had to stick a large screwdriver in the slot and disassemble it by hitting the screwdriver with a hammer. I even shaved off some of the plastic wrap to make it fit. Compare that to what happened two weeks later. We…

Worked great on 2000 Ford Ranger Extended Cab Doors

God I was furious the day I broke the cable on the extended cab doors on one of my trucks. I thought the cable was broken. A month later, the same thing happened with the extended cab door on the driver's side. In most cases it turns out that this is not the case, the tabs (plastic) molded on the ends of the cable body break. In short, find various YouTube videos on how to replace them. They work as advertised and I didn't have any major problems installing them. I highly recommend investing in

Not a "direct " replacement, but does the job.

After paying nearly $500 to have a door repaired where the mechanic replaced the drive and wires, not just the ends, I decided to fix the next broken door myself. This adjacent door turned out to be the two rear cargo doors on my old Ford Econoline work truck. I'm not "mechanical" but can turn a wrench if necessary. These endings made it with some modifications as others have reported. This kit contains all the parts needed to repair the two rear cargo doors. There are several videos on You…

Works almost as expected. There are many videos on YouTube with installation instructions, but I noticed that there is a point missing from the video. These ends will pinch the steel cable as you squeeze them together to fit the shackle. This pinching can easily be avoided by pre-drilling a 1/8 inch diameter hole in the center of the end of the cable jacket through which the cable will pass. (before you mount it to the cable) If you can fit one of the teeth of the vice into the notch, you can…

Almost all the same as they are from China. You will need to drill a small hole at the end to allow the cable to pass through the piece of metal unhindered. I always install these. If you have a Ford, you know what I'm talking about. I just drilled a small hole in the end like in the picture I show you. And then the side is so tight that I take a small screwdriver and tap it until it stops up and down the line. This allows it to open a bit more to allow the cable to be fed inside. After that…

Fantastic! All repairs are carried out with the removal of the inner door panels. 8 ends fix both doors, and two ends fit into the top latch without modification. It took 3 hours for the first door because I had a hard time opening the door. 1. The top latch can be opened with a long, thin screwdriver. Use a flashlight to locate the 1/4 inch diameter ball to the right of the latch. Click on this ball and the upper latch will open. 2. The bottom latch can be opened by feeling the flat lever on…

Perfect repair on doors

I use these on a 250 F250. you want them They are ideal for repairing the aging rubber boots on the ends of these cables. Climbing through the door is an adventure in itself, but after hearing many people in reviews saying they had to cut or grind the cable jacket to install, I thought I'd share my installation method. The key is heat. As you can see from one of my photos, you cannot click them as they are. After checking the cables slide easily into the slot (one had to widen the hole a bit…
