Review on πŸ”§ Essential Tool: General Tools 72 Leather Punch for Precise and Professional Leatherworking by Imed Artun

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Less than $7 for a hand tool

This is one of those purchases that you really only need once and then you leave it somewhere until you need it again a few years later and you realize you have it and you can't remember where you put it So you buy another one and a few months later you find the original in your wife's closet so you throw it in there and think next time you need it you'll remember it. You will not. Anyway, this thing works, it just needs a little muscle power or leverage. I have lost a lot of weight recently which has caused all my belts to become very weak - two prongs each - yes me! I inherited one from my father but couldn't find it (see above). I've been trying to heat up just a small pickaxe, but I've just made a messy mess, a messy jagged hole with burnt skin sticking out and cracked, so Revain comes to the rescue. I hear a click, release, not quite yet, push a little more, hear a louder click, I went through but not cleanly, twisted a little, flipped the other side, done. Clean looking hole, proud to show people when I mention how much weight I've lost. Yes it takes some getting used to and you have to wiggle it and make sure the leather piece is brushed out from the previous lunch but at the end of the day you get a nice clean hole that looks like the others on the belt and the belt fits all for $7 which is a lot less than the cost of a new belt or 4 for how many belts I had to puncture. PS - after finding my dad's old hammer drill I did a comparison hole, it was the same effort with the older tool so they really weren't made any better back then. I have attached a picture of one of the belts with old and new holes using this tool and my dad's hole punch, 3 new holes and 2 original holes in the picture, you can tell one of the new holes is a bit off center when I got it a bit cheeky about it, but hey, the buckle still goes through.

Pros
