Review on ☕ Gaggia Anima Prestige Automatic Coffee Machine: Super Automatic Frothing for Barista-Quality Latte, Macchiato, Cappuccino, and Espresso Drinks with Programmable Options by Stetson Olsen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

What happens if it breaks?

It was a good machine, its characteristics are described in other reviews. The main focus of my review is what happens when something goes wrong, which I think is very relevant when buying a product. Mine started leaking badly after 8 months. Revain only covers it for 30 days and states a one-year manufacturer's warranty. They offered me a $5 credit for my inconvenience, which I declined. I don't always read the fine print, so here's what you should know and what I wish I knew before I buy this or any other Gaggia device. They only have one repair center and that's in New York. They let me send it to them at my expense where they will determine if my abuse has resulted in an error. Before they allowed me to ship it to them, they charged my credit card $40 for the return shipping. So if they determine the repair is warranted and if they fix it they will ship it back to me. For me, such a service is quite unexpected after investing $1200 in an espresso machine and it broke after just 8 months. Update: Someone from importer Gaggia (Importika) read my review here, emailed me and left me a voicemail. They pointed out that my review was inaccurate and that while the support rep told me my credit card was pre-charged, they didn't charge it until after it was returned. When I called the manager back, he offered to "prioritize repairs" since warranty repairs typically take three weeks and waive the return shipping fee. I told her I didn't care as I'm still stuck with a $1200 car that broke down after 8 months of minimal use and I still had to find the box, pack and pay to get it to them send. in New York and won't have an espresso machine for a few weeks. If I charge a little less and get it back a little quicker, that doesn't make me a happy customer. Once I get it back and get it fixed I will sell it and never own a Gaggia again. I advise buyers to be especially wary of this machine and the Gaggia line of products in general.
