Update: I managed to work around the issues mentioned in my original review. In particular:* I rinse the filter every time I empty the collector. This seems to prevent the float switch from tripping when it shouldn't. * I pour out the bucket instead of using the drain plug. * I clean the mop head every time I empty the bin. I bought it to vacuum up dirty water. from a concrete floor, but that didn't work very well. A big problem was that the float switch stopped the suction even when the bin was empty. Apparently this was because the foam rubber filter for wet cleaning became clogged with foam, so that the vacuum cleaner's own suction pulled the float up. I consider this a design flaw as vacuuming up foamy liquids (e.g. a washing machine overflow) should be a common use case. I wasn't satisfied with the mop head either. It is easily clogged with hair and other small debris. It also left a clear film of water on the moderately rough concrete surface. The mop absorbed the last drops of water better. Finally, when the drain plug is removed, it pours water too quickly to be controlled. The first time I emptied the bucket, I got my own shoes wet. The second time I held the bucket directly over the sink, the water was still splashing everywhere.
