I love this thing. Yes you can fry on it, yes you can use it as a frying pan, but it's even better to use as a bread stone/pizza stone. The narrow rim prevents pizza or bread from slipping away if you slide underneath. I've made some really good pizzas with this thing. Being a metal, it is heavy, but so is breadstone. It won't break if you drop it (this applies to me). It doesn't stain (my last 2 pizza stones are stained). If it rusts, clean it and re-oil it. It fits in a medium/large toaster (measure before ordering). I have a butane gas stove for the catering trade and an induction stove. It got hot for induction and turned off the heat protection, but there was no problem with the butane stove. I have made very good cast iron flatbreads. All in all it was a really good buy.
