Review on 🎢 External USB Sound Card - CREATIVE Sound BlasterX G6 by Eh Wah Paw ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No complaints, I recommend to buy.

Choose between G6 and X3 blindly. Now, perhaps, I regret it: it is inconvenient to use, 3D positioning in games is rather weak, and to be honest, I doubt the noticeable superiority of sound. There will be extra money, I'll take the X3 for comparison, it should be more convenient and with advanced 3d. Tested on headphones: Shure 1540 (~$500), Sony MDR-1AM2 (~$200). I also wanted to draw your attention to the fact that for Macbook Pro (2022), for example, there is no particular point in this device, I did not catch the difference with the built-in DAC (well, except that the G6, of course, can shake tighter ears).

Pros
  • It justifies its purpose: there was absolutely no sound in the headphones on the built-in, it became "normal" on this card. 3d positioning (in headphones) somehow works. In RDR2 it is noticeable when you turn around. I'm not sure, however, that this effect is made by the map, and not by the game itself. In Windows, in the sound control panel, when you click on different channels, there is practically no difference. The backlight can be adjusted in color and brightness.
Cons
  • As I assumed from the photo, it is inconvenient to use the volume control, it is impossible to turn it with two fingers like a normal encoder, you have to either lift the device from the table, or turn it sideways with one finger. The device cannot be fixed vertically. There is no button to switch between line-out and headphones. Either open the creative software, or pull out the headphone jack.
