Review on πŸ–₯️ StarTech.com 3-Port Multi Monitor Adapter: DisplayPort MST Hub for Triple 4K Monitors - Windows PCs Only by Justin Hollins

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Works as I expected.

After reading some of the other reviews I was very cautious about purchasing. I just bought 4 Dell monitors with display ports and a new Dell I7 PC. I set everything up about 3 weeks ago, so far everything is working great. Perhaps some of the other reviewers are, shall we say, "technically failing". I'm fairly tech savvy, but it was a breeze (basically plug and play) to hook up the monitors and display the images on my screens. A bit of tweaking in Windows and setting up the Dell Display Adapter, but you'll have to do this with EVERY new system. I didn't rate the tech support - I don't need it. A NOTICE. I chose this because I wanted to try daisy chaining monitors to my PC. The graphics card will do; but not my monitors. You need daisy-chain DisplayPort monitors with DisplayPort input and output ports, and these monitors are much more expensive. So this adapter is an alternative route - it just splits the video signals in 4 directions. Same results as daisy chaining and I am very happy with how it works.

Pros
  • PRACTICAL: MST Hub (Multi-Streaming) has an integrated 15 cm video cable (DisplayPort) and an included 19" Micro USB-A power cable (48 cm) (bus-powered) | Supports LPCM digital audio
Cons
  • Not sure
