Think twice. I'm the guy who thinks that factory brakes and suspension are generally poor quality and usually when I buy a used car all 4 corners are retrofitted. That was the case with the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 I bought last summer. Since this car was intended to be a safe vehicle for my daughters to have when they came home from college, I did an immediate overhaul and replaced the wheels, tires, shock absorbers, and front and rear brakes with an EBC rotor and pad kits. with thorough flushing of the brake line and new fluid. A few months after everything was installed I experienced SERIOUS brake fade that went down in level. I haven't felt this bad since my drum brake days! I'm not sure my daughters would have been able to stop the truck at the bottom of the incline as I quickly descended onto a large platform and did my best to stop (imagine Fred Flintstone in his heels on the street before). . !). I immediately took the truck back to my mechanic who said (by then the brakes were cold) everything was fine. I complained to EBC and they sent me a set of replacement front pads without explaining what could have gone wrong. Let's fast forward a few days. now 18,000 miles since first brake installation. My daughter complains about the grinding noise in the brakes and I look through the wheels and see the right front rotor is cut out so it looks like it's eating itself. I'm going back to the mechanic. Never in 40 years of driving have the brakes wore out so quickly, so I didn't even think about it. I thought the caliper was somehow twisted or stuck, but my mechanic called and said the brakes were just badly worn. In fact, he said, the left side shrunk less than 1mm. If you can change brakes and rotors every 18,000 miles in an underperforming car or truck, and you can deal with brakes that disappear from time to time, this kit is a must have. For me it's a win-win situation. and unfortunately without a break. I should also mention that there is no early warning indicator on the pads either. If that were the case I could keep the rotors instead of sending them to boat anchors along with the pads. I'm sure they have a better chance of stopping my boat faster than my truck there! lol sorry ebk. Never again.
