Comes in a sturdy, molded case with metal latches, although the hinge is not metal. Lots of accessories that fit perfectly in the case. Heavy duty cable (someone here said it was 7 inches long, 5 feet to be exact). I like that it can be changed from pistol grip orientation to straight/flat orientation. I haven't seen any other heat gun with this feature. Can be useful for a variety of applications or in hard-to-reach places. The three temperatures range from as warm as low on a hair dryer to over 1100⁰F. The fan isn't powerful and there aren't any settings to change the fan speed. , but I guess most jobs don't need much air. It is generally not necessary to deflate or inflate objects with this tool. It fits snugly and securely in my little hands with a rubberized grip. Generally a good household tool. My first project with him will be removing the old linoleum in my laundry room and removing the paint from the mantel. I'll update this review later when I try more. This was an early Christmas present for myself (yes girls love tools too! I used to be an army mechanic too). Now my best mechanic wants one for work!
