Love this item - like my other Scosche Huds, it doesn't like being left in direct sunlight and won't work if it is too much gets hot. He'll let you know with a loud "distress" sound. At first I had trouble with the fact that he kept wanting to switch off. I went into the settings and adjusted the "cutoff voltage" as per the manual and that fixes the problem. GPS speed works well. It communicates seamlessly with my Chevy Volt so I can actually see what the gas engine is doing. The Volt's dashboard only shows the electric vehicle's engine and the power the gas engine is producing, as well as whether it's on, and you can see the coolant temperature through a hard-to-reach menu. The HUD solves this problem, allowing me to see real-time GPH fuel. Consumption, tachometer for engine and coolant temperature. The worst thing was that the reflective sheet was positioned so that it was in the right place for my vision and in the right place to catch the reflection of the hud that the reflective sheet was useless so I had to use it without it. However, for $20 it can't be beat and the $60 HUD options on Amazon are inferior
