Stuck in our little chicken coop, pointing at a bottle of water. This was only meant to keep the water melted. In 20 degree weather, in a chicken coop with added warmth from the feathered body, the water bottle froze anyway. It was only a foot away from the lightbulb. The lamp feels VERY VERY hot, but it does not emit heat as expected. That would be enough to heat the cage up a few degrees inside, but not enough outside. To do this, choose lamps with a power of 100 W or more! We will use this when hatching babies indoors to keep them cozy.
