Excellent reptile - warming without light.

This heater makes our snake so happy. It used to be heated with an ordinary light bulb, and we were afraid that it would burn itself. Also, all that light can't be good 24 hours so we turned it off after dark and found them curled up under the bed in the morning. And it stays warm all the time without worrying about skin damage or sleep deprivation.

Keep Sir Zeus, my bearded dragon, warm!

Mr. Zeus and I love this light bulb! It works fantastic keeping him and his size 40 Toasty tank top warm. Love the fact there is no light to ruin my sleep. It was shipped and arrived quickly in excellent condition. The packaging was great to avoid breakage. Thank you, I will buy this lamp again as we are more than satisfied with the product.

Great for outdoor shelters

I use this for the outdoor cat house I keep for feral cats and it maintains the perfect temperature. Not too hot, not too warm. Most people probably use it for reptiles. This is a good alternative to heat bulbs, which normally emit light and can disturb the animals' sleep. I definitely recommend this product. I've been wearing it for 5 weeks now and it's still working!

Not as hot as expected

Stuck in our little chicken coop, pointing at a bottle of water. This was only meant to keep the water melted. In 20 degree weather, in a chicken coop with added warmth from the feathered body, the water bottle froze anyway. It was only a foot away from the lightbulb. The lamp feels VERY VERY hot, but it does not emit heat as expected. That would be enough to heat the cage up a few degrees inside, but not enough outside. To do this, choose lamps with a power of 100 W or more! We will use this…

An excellent choice for reptiles that need warmth

Delivery was fast. I have an Exo Terra 40 (36" x 18"). I rescued two leopard geckos from a careless owner and wanted to make sure they had enough warmth to stay healthy. I've been annoyed by the light from a conventional heating pad and have seen many lightbulbs being returned to the pet store where I work. These ceramic heating elements are said to last many times longer than traditional incandescent bulbs, which is very important. The price is good too, about the same as other heat lamps of…

Safe radiant heater - probably not UL approved

Bought to keep my son's bearded dragon warm. It worked well and kept the temperature of the aquarium as warm as the 75w infrared lamp he had previously used. Reasons I bought this heater over another: less electricity (save money as it runs 24 hours a day) and the UL certification listed in the product description (runs 24 hours a day - wanted something safe). After receiving the product, it is not UL listed. The box and the ceramic heater do not bear the "UL" symbol. Also, I searched the…

Perfect for BP in a 20 gallon long tank!

Ideal for a 20 gallon tank. Provides ambient air temperature to create a temperature gradient for my ball python. It has a 90 degree hotspot of heating, and with this emitter the cold side stays at around 80 degrees (about 86 degrees just below the lamp in the center of the case). The first night I installed the lamp it was much more active (it used to only appear for a few hours in the early morning but is active all night). I love it so far! The only downside is that it will instantly…

Worked great on my feeds!

At first I was afraid of getting too much power and overheating my Rosie Burks (birds the size of a parrot). When this lamp arrived and I put it in a 6 inch reflector dome (from Home Depot) I was afraid it wouldn't be enough. I placed the perch just below the heat lamp 11 inches from it and the birds loved it! They quickly discovered that this is the warmest spot in the flight cage (the glass front of the cage helps retain heat better in winter), and they visit during the day and sleep…
