After a shocking incident years ago, I insist on "solid" taps when I need to use a splitter. With my pond, water gardening, aquarium work, greenhouse and plants, it seemed like at least two tees needed to be connected together to get enough faucets for that array of lights, water and air pumps, etc. And they always wanted to be separated ways. . , in the middle. It's a bit exaggerated though. it doesn't break apart between them. You can block the input wire (I can easily block 12/3 inch) and if needed you can block ONE outgoing wire. Otherwise it gives you five taps and there is no problem with 2 3 deciding to split enough to be dangerous in the middle. It's generally more water resistant than an extension cord, and with an extension cord that feeds it GFCI, I can be confident in my work. It's a little heavy even before you connect anything to it, but I'm very happy with this purchase. I do NOT recommend using multiple power tools at the same time; Anything that has a serious amp draw should have its own properly rated lead. If you're using multiple fluorescent lights or something like that, that's great.
