Review on ๐Ÿ”ง RS5128 RS5000 Series Shock Absorber by Rancho by David Maxwell

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not worth the money.

This is a rear shock absorber and the shock itself has done 20,000 miles and I have replaced it with good quality Bilsteins. This Jeep has never been used off-road and all Rancho shocks failed prematurely. Not a very good shock for jeeps. Don't waste money. I made a mistake with this brand. My original rating was 4 stars which was premature and my mistake. Spend a little more and buy good quality shock absorbers from Bilstein or Fox. The steering stabilizer was lousy too. I replaced it with Old Man Emu and this improvement is worth the money. I've found that Old Man Emu actually costs less money at Quadratec, which is unusual, plus free shipping. Not sure if it was a promotion but it was about ten bucks cheaper. This is a high quality steering stabilizer and it works great. Many Jeep enthusiasts have told me that the Rancho doesn't have the quality it once was.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
