First fiber experience - with good results. Used with 50m of fiber optic cable and the devices operate at full speed (1000Mbps). The transmission was limited to the copper side of the Ethernet connection and not the fiber. I needed this device because of the long distance between LAN points and it was too long for a CAT6 cable because the CAT6 cable limited the bandwidth. Thus, the fiber link replaced the long link and improved the overall throughput between the two parts of the LAN. I wish these devices would work with PoE (Power over Ethernet) so you don't have to use power dongles.
