Review on πŸ”§ Dorman 917-010 Engine Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid for Models - Shop Now! by Bryan Fields

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It ran better with natively leaking VVT Solenoid

As mentioned, this should probably not be used in a 4.2 I6 engine. I replaced my original solenoid valve due to a leak and it worked fine. I may have gotten a bad one but after installation I have a bit of a choppy idle, my gas mileage is terrible, it feels a lot slower at lower rpm, runs/sounds like dog shit once you hit 3k rpm and don't even try turn on the air conditioning. I took it out and replaced it with the original leaking solenoid and no problem.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • old
