Review on Abatron WoodEpox Epoxy Wood Replacement Compound, 12 oz Kit, Part A & B: Restore & Reinforce Your Wood Surfaces Efficiently by Gary Christon

Beware! Do not use for major repairs.

Manufacturer's instructions for mixing A and B in equal parts by volume gives unreliable results. Both parts are very crumbly and compressible. If you try to scoop equal volumes of each part from its respective container with a utility tool, you cannot avoid squeezing each part. This makes estimating the same volume by eye very unreliable and mostly results in brittle mixtures resulting in weak and irreparable repairs. Mixing parts A and B by relative weight based on their respective densities will produce mixtures that are more consistent and reliable for repair purposes. requires strong and strong bonds. This can be easily calculated if you know the density of each part. This density is not specified in the instructions for use of the product. You have to search the Abatron website to only find the specific gravity of parts A and B hidden in the MSDS. I tried to get more information from Abatron and explained the unpredictable mixing results by volume to President Marche Caporaso. I only received rude and ignorant replies. She claimed not to know the weights of the tanks for Parts A and B, and considered it confidential whether the tanks were factory filled by weight or by volume. She replied that the whole discussion was ridiculous. Fortunately, there are better and more reliable alternatives to Abatron WoodEpox.
