We purchased a 6 foot carpet in front of the sliding door to the outside. The bottom of the slider is made of hardwood and the carpet does not have a non-slip backing. We decided to try these non-slip corner pads to keep the rug in place and so far they work well. The pads have a sticky adhesive on one side that is designed to stick to the back of the carpet. The other side of the mat that touches the floor has no adhesive but feels like rubber silicone. They seem to hold the rug in place well and even require a slight tug on the corners to lift and move the rug. So far there has been no sign of residue or damage to our wood floors. The product description recommends lifting the rug once a week to untie it, which we will do to ensure the pads don't wear out, which could damage the floor. These pads are easy to apply and adhere well to the carpet.
