Review on Plug N Play Remote Starter for Infinity Q50 2014-2020, QX60 2014-2018, Q60 2017-2020 - 3X Lock Activation, 5-Minute Installation - Not Compatible with 2.0T by Chris Reeves

Updated 8th April 2021 - This module interfaces with the vehicle BCM -

. Pros: - Works well remotely with a regular key fob. - Convenient and nice to have. - Easy to "grab" in the car with a key fob. At about 15 mph or less, press the lock button on the fob 3 Sometimes switching the vehicle to anything other than 'drive' will disable the vehicle and you will lose power steering, brakes, etc. (keep this in mind if you have children or passengers who can play with the fob) - Sometimes the control panel fails and gives the wrong fob ID or the car doesn't even recognize the key and just turns off - When you unlock the door with the smart door handle and not using the unlock button on the key fob, the car will turn off when you press the brake pedal - if you press the button on the smart door handle to lock the car, and then press the lock button on the key fob at least twice, the car will start remotely . This can also be done by pressing the smart door handle button 3 times. All in all a good performance for the price and ease of installation. The problems are mostly minor, but otherwise the system works as expected. Edited April 8, 2021 - Had to downgrade from 4 stars to 1 because the remote start module started messing with the BCM in early January. Suddenly, the rear doors would no longer randomly close or open, even when the buttons on the key fob were pressed, as well as the door knobs in the car. Even when starting from a standstill, the doors no longer close automatically. No InTouch settings have been changed on the device, so there is no fault with the device itself. In addition, the interior lights flickered when driving over bumps or potholes, even if I switched them off. Was going to take the car to the dealer to fix the lock situation as it was bothering me but decided to take a look at the remote start module first. It was found that moving the wires in a certain way caused the lights to flicker and the doors to open even when no one was trying. I ended up removing the module and replacing the original BCM connectors and now my car locks and unlocks normally and the light no longer flashes when hitting bumps in the road.

Pros
  • . Heavy Duty
Cons
  • . Minor issues
