I needed this to prime my hair as a protective styling method. Acrylic fibers don't absorb all of the moisture from my hair (important point!) - It was easy to grab and wrap around my hair (as a beginner) - I could easily knit more yarn if I ran out of patterns. Hair.- You can find almost any color to mix with your hair. This black matched my dark brown/grey hair. If someone inexperienced is trying to make African threads, try yarn first! And be sure to buy material that won't damage or dry out your hair. This one works best for me, especially as I plan to leave the thread for more than a week (maybe 2). I learned to knit and crochet when I was little and I know Red Heart was my favorite yarn for the price. and quality. I never knew I would be using it in my hair protection method years later!
