Review on TOYOTA OEM Vacuum Switching Valve for Charcoal Canister by Brian Buck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The 2003 Toyota Sequoia is perfect for a replacement.

This part was perfect for my 2003 Toyota Sequoia. It attaches to the carbon filter in the EVAP system. The only official way to purchase this part with the Sequoia part number is a complete vaporizer canister replacement with the valve included (several $100s). It is not listed separately as part of Sequoia. I found out how to install from a YouTube video which stated that this part of the Sequoia is identical to what is sold as a standalone Camry. Just note that you'll probably have to drill out the existing mounting bolt (which will most likely rust since it's under the car) and be very careful as you're near gas lines. Also before that, go to the hardware store and grab a small machine screw (I don't remember the size, but it's metric). I went with a stainless steel mounting screw to keep it from rusting. The error code that caused the engine light to come on is gone!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
