I bought this to store my Christmas lights and the higher you go the dimmer it gets. I would never trust that over 6-8 feet. I'm starting to think of telescoping ladders as a gimmick. Luckily I don't have to go over 6-8 feet and it wasn't expensive so I could skip it. Only for use when I need to go to the attic, but I will be going to the nearest hardware store to buy a proper ladder.
