I am a house winegrower and have owned a similar one for many years. The old one broke when I accidentally dropped it. I bought this as a replacement and found it cheap with poorly made parts. It has a very loose focusing mechanism, causing the scale to blur at the slightest touch. It works, but there are probably better refractometers out there. Keep looking - this is not what you need. Update: The supplier of this refractometer is really top notch. They saw my review and 100% refunded my money. Wow! They're good guys, so don't think they're trying to steal from you. They really stand behind their products and I appreciate that.
