I've been in IT for over 30 years and have worked in everything - hardware, software, UNIX, Linux, Windows. I've also set up complex NAS configurations in large data centers. I have to say that the WD EX2 Ultra is the worst hardware/software I have ever dealt with. Shares remain unavailable after restarting client boxes, the toolbar interface is worse than I've ever seen, I have no idea who could have written the manual, and a big, glaring problem is that you CANNOT WRITE A BACKUP (You have to do this manually via the dashboard interface). I've been using WD drives for many years and have always been happy with their quality, but this has to be the worst product I've come across. I am sending it back today and would advise you to work hard before purchasing this item.
