Wow! I have never been so excited about a product in my entire life! Firstly, I am a Mac user and cannot express my enthusiasm for a "quick scanner" for Mac users. This was one of the main reasons I bought this scanner and I'm very glad I chose this particular scanner over all the others I considered (including the Iris, Pentax and NeatReceipt scanners ). To start, I just want to say that not only does this product look great (the snow-white design and dainty text logos are a perfect match for Macs), but it also feels great. The scanner, which is only about 12 inches long, has a certain weight and it gives the impression that an investment in high-quality technology has been made. It includes some nice features to make document scanning easier, including sliding rulers that adjust to the length of your document to hold it in place during scanning (for straight, not skewed, scanning) and a paper holder, which slides out to hold large documents. Scanning is incredibly easy. Simply place your document in the holder, press the scan button, and the scanner quickly scans it. The installed software then automatically registers the scanned document and offers several options for what you want to do with the document: scan to PDF, Scan to email as an attachment, scan to print (automatically prints your document), or scan to iPhoto (automatically opens iPhoto to view the scanned document). Image quality is excellent at 600dpi as it should be. You can set the scanner to scan fast or slow, with the slowest being the best quality (although I've scanned at the fastest setting and seen near-perfect image quality with minimal text blurring), and you can choose the level of compression for color images. I was thinking about my purchase and wondered if I shouldn't have gone for a good flatbed scanner, but now I'm very happy that I chose this small, very fast and very easy to use scanner for all my documents, Receipts and papers have decided.
