Choice and comfort

I love patterns. I'm looking for comfort when knitting for babies and children. I tried several samples. They feel comfortable, not too limp, not too stiff, not too knotty and not too holey. The fun use of color makes simple patterns more than gift-worthy. Several templates have special details that I want to use in other projects. I love that many quilts can be used as a basis for a custom design. I love that only 2 weights of thread are used so you can create a collection of colors to try on multiple quilts (and keep the cost per quilt down), and you don't have to have a dozen different needle sizes to make more than one of the quilts. I think some knitters and gift recipients expecting a lot of lace might be disappointed (although there are some cute lace patterns like Making Waves with a thin pleated edge), but I think the patterns fit with today's bright color trend , simple lines and easy maintenance. I really like the shell play pattern with swimming turtles, although I think if I'm making it for a baby or toddler I won't use an i-cord for the turtle's heads and legs as I could potentially mishandle them. enough to avoid a choking hazard. I can do it like it is for an older kid. It's just too cute!

I got this book because of the afghan with the mustaches. It's very cute.
