This tripod took a nearly useless cheap microscope (Jiusion 40 to 1000x) and made it a pleasure to use. The assembly came without instructions, but since there are only 2 screws it is not difficult. The rack mounting is a bit sloppy, but still acceptable and at a very good price. So if you bought a cheaper USB microscope and it came with one of those awful stands, do yourself a favor and get this one, you'll never regret. I posted a picture of a very small piece of uranium ore that I couldn't focus on with my factory mount because it required very fine tuning.
