Review on πŸ”§ OEMTOOLS 24389 Manual Fluid Extractor (5.3L) - Efficient Oil & Transmission Fluid Pump for Easy Oil Changes by Dave Connelly

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I will never change my oil the old fashioned way again!

Great product, I decided to start my own modifications after the 50,000 mile mark as my free modifications had expired and my last modification was made at a local Valvoline shop with very disappointing results. They change the oil in my 2014 Jetta SE (1.8 ton engine). I asked if they had VW 502/505 certified oil and they did. They even showed me the label so I can check for myself. I moved in and changed. I was the sole owner of my car, bought a new one with 8 miles on it and now I have 55,000 miles. All oil changes were done at the dealer (10,000 intervals), even if I had to pay, my last change was done at the Valvoline shop for 52,000 (it was way too long between my last oil changes). I decided to change the oil again after about 3,000 miles because it got very dark and dirty in such a short time! I know the time between my last oil change may have affected the Valvoline oil but I was still shocked! I also sent a sample to Black Stone Labs and the results showed the oil was pretty depleted and needed replacing. So I switched to the method I used on my previous 2004 Jetta GLS 1.8T that had over 200,000 miles on the odometer! 5,000 km oil change at Liqui Moly! used to change my oil. I was surprised that it literally sucked all the oil! Of course, I continued to move down the hose and continued to pump for a while after most of the oil had drained. But it continued to pick up oil, when I was done I also picked up the part that stays in the oil filter bag. After that, just in case, I crawled under the car and unscrewed the drain plug and barley oil leaked out. I was impressed! The quality of the pump looks top notch and it is very easy to use. You should pump and then keep pumping when you notice a drop in pressure. Then when you see air and barley oil coming out, just start moving the hose and keep pumping until no more oil comes out.
