The main thing is that the engine reaches normal operating temperature. My Audi uses 7.5 liters of oil and fills this reservoir to about half the top line. Not sure if this will fit 9.5L, maybe more like 8.5. However, this is perfect for my needs. Edit 10/13/19: Just did my second oil change. This thing makes changing the oil so easy and hassle free. This is a great vacuum pump, but the company knows the 28.5" dipstick tube isn't long enough. This should have been fixed. You can buy a 1/4 pipe and fitting and extend the pipe. After spending $63 I was disappointed. If it had a longer dipstick tube I would rate it 5 stars. With more and more transmissions not having a drain plug and having to drop the entire transmission to get to the oil pan, that's great. A few strokes and the liquid will flow out. You have to do this multiple times to use it for draining and filling. But it's better than those cheap hand pumps. There were 2 of them and both fell apart on first use. This allows me to change the oil on the top in about 15 minutes. On my Passat, the oil filter cartridge sits directly above the engine. Put a new one in while I suck the oil out of the dipstick with this thing. It takes as long to put 5 liters of oil in as it takes to suck it out of this thing. I don't have to jack the car up or crawl under it. I leave the used oil back in the empty oil bottles I just used and take it back for recycling.
