Seems to work with no problems

Easy to install and looks OEM. I bought it to fix recurring slow leaks in the fuel vapor system. The code still hasn't come back after a month.

The Best: Parts

I had a check engine light on my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500, the code was evaporator system leaking but my friend told me to try to get a new gas cap. The first. This fits my truck perfectly and has a much tighter seal than my old cap. Best of all, there's no more check engine light! Couldn't be happier!

Great gas cap with no vaporizer codes.

Great and seems to be working I didn't have any evaporator leak codes so it seems to be working and I had a cheap gas cap from AutoZone and it gave evaporative codes after the first ride, this one gave no code. I've uploaded photos of a cheap AutoZone gas tank and this Mopar gas tank, there's no denying the difference.

Great Price Easy Install Bug Fixed

I had code P0456 in my 2010 Dodge Ram truck. I did some research and this is an emissions code related to the evaporator system that could be caused by a bad gas cap. I ordered this Dodge OEM cap and it solved the code issue. It may not work for all other codes like mine. But the swap was very easy, and the price didn't break the bank. So even if that didn't work, at least I had a new gas cap.

Buy the right part - Caps

Perfect fit, has a central cable just like the original cap. The normal ones either didn't have a cable at all or it was in a different place than the original, causing problems when closing the fuel filler flap. Buy a Mopar if you have a Dodge Ram, it's a lot less hassle and the cost is about the same. My Ram was throwing check engine lights because the gas cap was old and the gasket was bad. No problems after exchange.

Great replacement. Attaching the leash to the car frame requires some skill.

Arrived in no time. Fits perfectly. Thought the warning light would go out in a week or so. My scanner is in storage. I can say that the old lid was loosely closed. I've already tried lube. I also needed a new case. Let's see if the base extension and a hard blow with a hammer fit into the hole on the body. UPDATE: Uses a replaceable hex end of a screwdriver and a few sharp taps with a hammer. The leash is attached to the body. 1-5 minutes work with tool selection, alignment, view etc. and…

Do not buy this item, it will be short lived - only lasted 10 months

Do not buy this item, it will be short lived. I've only been using it for 10 months. The original MOPAR gas cap that came with my truck lasted over 10 years, this one only lasted 10 months. (about 6-8 refills during COVID). It no longer seals and illuminates the Check Engine light. Go to O'Reillys and pick up a STANT gas cap for $18.99 - part number 10871T. Twice as much, but once you use it you'll understand why. Real hard feel and tight seal like OEM from Dodge. I thought I would buy a…

Solved code P0456 on '08 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT V8 HEMI

Check engine light at 120k on my '08 Ram 1500 V8 HEMI SLT. Ran a scan and P0456 (small emissions leak). After researching online, the most common issue associated with d with this code is a loose or faulty gas cap. Bought this OEM product. Installed in a minute. Perfect fit and match. Comes with a plastic strap, like the original. Simply use the tip of a screwdriver to pry the plastic bracket off the gas cap. I cleared the code and it stays out, so the problem is solved. If you don't have an…
