Ideal for working in tight spaces where you need to strip wires. Worked fine on new wires. The problem I still have is old wires where the wire jacket is old and stiffer than the more pliable new wire jacket. I came across this while plugging in a cable on my truck. I cut the wire I was trying to connect but they didn't remove the sheathing. He tried to cut but only left a mark and then slid down the wire. I had to rip it off with a razor blade because I couldn't attract any other strippers in the area. All I can think of is that the sheath was dry and tougher than new wire. It worked very well on the new 20awg I installed.
