3.5 stars Mostly open Good overall, not great.

Ideal for working in tight spaces where you need to strip wires. Worked fine on new wires. The problem I still have is old wires where the wire jacket is old and stiffer than the more pliable new wire jacket. I came across this while plugging in a cable on my truck. I cut the wire I was trying to connect but they didn't remove the sheathing. He tried to cut but only left a mark and then slid down the wire. I had to rip it off with a razor blade because I couldn't attract any other strippers in…

Skeptical, then convinced

I wanted to try a different set of wire strippers and bought these because they looked the best for field stripping. I'll admit I was disappointed when I took them out of the box and found there was no room for the gauge of wire you were stripping. You answer them by sizing the wire and stripping it properly. I was skeptical. Then I tried them, I "practiced" stripped wire from 12 gauge with very hard insulation to 24 gauge with very soft insulation. He carefully stripped both (and everything in

I don't understand complaints

In my opinion, good electrical work is expressed in many small details, accuracy and consistency. I'll admit that stripping the same length of wire ends every time has gotten harder, not doing nearly as much as it used to. It comes back after I've worked - it only sees your eye. This little tool that I've been using for a while now gives a consistently clean finish when I can't. Basically you use it for 12 and 14 ga wiring with a 10 ga pull up in the third. Heavier gauge wire or direct…

I rarely use refills and when I do it just doesn't work as advertised. not so good. Some will be exposed, but most of the wire will not be completely stripped leaving damaged wire. I use this to set up my network; I'm trying to wire my house but it seems to be more of a hassle than fixing it rather than stripping the wires. The photo clearly shows how this is done. I had to strip the wire multiple times before it even cut them. You can see this by the white wire with the green stripe, which…
