Poor ratchet hook design

I bought this to tie my motorcycle to a trailer. The hooks at the end are almost useless. A hook slipped off the anchor ring when I gave the straps a vigorous shake to make sure they were tight. Another came about 2 miles from my house. The ratchet works well, the straps are strong, but the hooks, while strong, are not curved enough to provide a secure hold. I don't trust them to protect my bike anymore so I threw them in the bin and ordered a replacement from Revain from another manufacturer. (I didn't send them back because I cut the straps to shorten them before realizing the hooks were the problem.)
