Very happy with this purchase, I was initially looking for a smaller kettle that wouldn't take up the stove. And he had to have a good design and a whistle. Check, check, check. That's cool. clean, modern design (but not too extreme). For once, I read the instructions and I intend to keep them for a long time. I was a little worried about other reviews saying the whistle was weak, but I found that wasn't the case. It's not a pleasant whistling sound (is there such a thing as a kettle?), it actually sounds more like a cat being stepped on when it actually rolls (good enough for me when I'm in a different room). I fill it properly (per the instructions) and make sure the lid is fully latched and hold it away from the cabinet (not sure if that matters but thought it would probably be better). It cooks; he squeaks; i make tea The wooden handle doesn't get very hot, but I put a towel over it anyway.
