Description of ๐Ÿต 1.4 Quart Chantal Sven Fog Grey Enamel on Steel Whistling Teakettle

SCANDINAVIAN STYLING: Clean lines and natural wood help create a design that is distinctly northern European; the light color beautifully accents the enamel finish of the teakettle's body. WOOD, STAY-COOL HANDLES: The blonde wood handle and knob are made of 100% natural Rubberwood; the wood stays cool to the touch when boiling water. DURABILITY: Chantal enamel is fired at high temperatures to create a smooth, glossy finish that is not to fade. One-piece body construction eliminates an interior seam and prevents rust; premium 'boiler' enamel on the interior provides extra durability. PERFORMS ON ALL COOKTOPS: Perfect for all cooktops. Including magnetic induction. FROM CHANTAL: 50 years ago, Chantal was the first to bring dramatic color, tempered glass lids, stay-cool handles and teakettles with a harmonica whistle to the kitchenware marketplace and continues to dedicate itself to the creation of innovative products that bring elegance to the home. Performs. Beautifully.

Looks nice but doesn't work well

Looks nice but doesn't work well. Water splashes everywhere and doesn't let the kettle fill to the brim. Works for looks but definitely not for usability.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • So far so good

Water flows in all directions

I liked the prospect but unfortunately the kettle was also useless because when pouring the water it splits the spot which is very dangerous as the water is usually very hot. Came right back :(

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Doubt

Disappointing. on Teapots

Whilst this is a beautiful teapot it has unfortunately not been well thought out. First, the whistle is barely audible. Second, you can't pick up a pot and pour water at the same time, which was always possible with the Revere Ware kettles I grew up with. Just not what I expected given the good reviews I've seen.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Available in white only

The kettle is very nice, but the "whistle" is false advertising. If we stand directly at the stove, we hardly hear the whistle, sometimes not at all. Update - after arrival of a replacement boiler. Now very satisfied and I've been looking forward to this good product for a long time,

Pros
  • practical article
Cons
  • nothing here

Pleasantly surprised

To be honest I haven't had one in a very long time. But I'm pleasantly surprised. I was hoping not to hate it as I had a lot of crappy teapots. But I really like this one a lot. The grip stays cool, the whistle is nice and I really like the way it looks and feels. It wouldn't have been my first choice based on looks alone, so I hesitated a bit before deciding to take it (purely a style issue), but now that I have it, I'm very glad I did decided on this special teapot. .

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Updates available

Light cornflower blue

Beautiful teapot, light. I had a LeCruset before but didn't have a whistle for it and after a close chat I got a little shabby and got something new. Le Creuset was much heavier and lasted over 15 years. I don't know how long this one will last, but the price is much cheaper. The blue color in the photos looks stronger/Viking blue, but personally I would call it cornflower blue. I personally like the color better. As long as the lid is closed, the whistle works great too.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Edgy

Unusable within 2 weeks - defective product.

I used this teapot probably 5 times and the enamel broke off. It's useless now. It was a costly mistake. Editing the review: The company contacted me after I made contact. Gave me a totally unacceptable customer service response. Told me I mishandled it - I replied and described exactly how I had used it those 5 times, all according to their instructions. They say they "do not cover this type of damage under warranty". Took for TWO WEEKS as instructed and they only offered 40% off a new one. Iโ€ฆ

  • Doping ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • I have no particular dislikes for it, everything is fine

Love everything about this teapot!

Very happy with this purchase, I was initially looking for a smaller kettle that wouldn't take up the stove. And he had to have a good design and a whistle. Check, check, check. That's cool. clean, modern design (but not too extreme). For once, I read the instructions and I intend to keep them for a long time. I was a little worried about other reviews saying the whistle was weak, but I found that wasn't the case. It's not a pleasant whistling sound (is there such a thing as a kettle?), itโ€ฆ
