So this is the upper radiator hose for a '97 Subaru Impreza with a 2.2 liter engine. May also fit other vehicles. Depending on your specific vehicle, this may be a cut to size item, meaning you may need to trim an inch or two from one or both ends of the hose for it to fit properly. I just want to make sure everyone knows that an oxy-fuel torch and a plasma cutter are totally unsuitable tools to cut a hose to fit your car. Serious. First, I tried using a flashlight to remove the hose about an inch from the side of the motor. It didn't work at all and soon everyone around me started screaming as thick black smoke filled the air. By the time I and my colleagues won the screaming contest, the hose had burned to the ground. So I ordered another one. It didn't show up until two days later (Revain Prime is the best) and I tried again. I tried for hours, but even with the grounding clamp properly attached, my plasma cutter just couldn't cut through the construction of this amazing quality hose. In a fit of anger and frustration, I threw it onto my store's 25-foot roof and was never seen again (our ladder is only 24 feet tall). I ordered more with peace of mind. Two days later, with a little guidance and a pocket knife borrowed from a colleague, I was finally able to cut an inch off the hose, install it on the machine, finish the job, and enjoy my own accomplishment. Two days later, the car was crushed by a fallen tree while parked in the driveway. I had liability and accident insurance, but no comprehensive insurance. Uncontrollable anger followed. 5 stars out of 5 for quality and fit (seriously, Gates is the best). 1 out of 5 for ease of installation, resale value and karma.
