Good quality, great price.

Good quality, great price. Ease of installation. (Where are the gloves so you don't break your knuckles turning the clamps on and off)

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Security

Perfect fit for my Subaru

Perfect fit for my '97 Subaru Legacy. Replaced the old upper radiator hose with this one. Seems to be of good quality and I think Gates has a lifetime guarantee. UPDATE 4/18/16. After 5 years and 53,000 miles the hose leaked and my car started overheating and was downgraded to 4 stars.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Quality

Had to cut it for the Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS but otherwise great

Replaced the upper radiator hose with this on my 1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. I had to trim the ends a bit but other than that it works fine and is from excellent quality. I assume the manufacturers made it a little longer to fit different car models.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Minor things

2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS Coupe 5MT

When replacing the timing belt I decided to do the water pump as well. If I was going to drain the coolant I would only do it once so I also decided to replace the radiator hoses as they were relatively cheap. I bought this tubing and Gates 20473 for the bottom. Both hoses are a bit long and need to be cut to length. The best way to cut them is using a PVC cutter. Made a nice clean cut and worked relatively easily. Also, be sure to use new hose clamps. You want the screw type to snap once if…

Pros

  • Slightly Wrinkled

So this is the upper radiator hose for a '97 Subaru Impreza with a 2.2 liter engine. May also fit other vehicles. Depending on your specific vehicle, this may be a cut to size item, meaning you may need to trim an inch or two from one or both ends of the hose for it to fit properly. I just want to make sure everyone knows that an oxy-fuel torch and a plasma cutter are totally unsuitable tools to cut a hose to fit your car. Serious. First, I tried using a flashlight to remove the hose about an…
