These ethernet adapters are great for use with small single board computers that don't have (good or bad) their own ethernet ports. However, I think TCP segmentation offloading (TSO) on Linux with this adapter, despite conforming to the spec, is a bit strange. When sending data to a receiver with an oddly small Linux TCP receive buffer window with this adapter, it was happy to fill the buffer by sending two smaller packets at a time, rather than sending normal-sized packets one at a time. I haven't completely isolated the problem from this adapter and if the other end were spec compliant it wouldn't be a problem, but if you're using them to communicate with buggy things like me you can bug with this behavior. .
