Why did Windows get rid of VLANs? I will never know But seriously, that's why I buy these things. If they do VLAN, five stars. These ethernet adapters are great for use with small single board computers that don't have (good or bad) their own ethernet ports. However, I think TCP segmentation offloading (TSO) on Linux with this adapter, despite conforming to the spec, is a bit strange. When sending data to a receiver with an oddly small Linux TCP receive buffer window with this adapter, it was happy to fill the buffer by sending two smaller packets at a time, rather than sending normal-sized packets one at a time. Both parts worked great. plug and play Allowed me not to use WiFi for important virtual meetings. Great for the price. They arrived on time.

I stream a lot at home, sometimes I notice a little buffering. As a test, I connected a wired device to see if I had any buffering, which I didn't. The only problem I had was that the Android TV Box (Mi Box) didn't have an Ethernet port, only WiFi. I decided to give it a try and see if they would work with the MiBox, which to my surprise they did. No more buffering and much better, stress-free enjoyment. Company responds well to complaints; However, the kiosk did not allow to request a refund. Junk, a product added to a bag of electronic parts and products that NEVER worked. Check Microsoft for problems with these alleged LAN USB ports. / Save money and try something else

I love these things for adding ethernet to non-ethernet things like tablets and single board computers.

This is USB 2.0 and doesn't support gigabit connection. This will give you a wonderful 96MB transfer rate. I bought these for a project and now that my other parts are finally finished I am not able to achieve my intended goal with them. I don't know why none of the reviews mention this blatant misrepresentation of product information. One star because at least they work.
