I have 1 inch for my generator. I used a 220 volt 35 amp welder (lowest setting) and flashed it when I wasn't paying much attention. , I'm just an amateur welder, not a professional. Once I connected it to the generator and started it worked fine. What I didn't expect was how heavily it smoked when heated. it was producing oil burn or something but it was smoking closest to the intake and worked down as it warmed up. The temp gun showed it started smoking when it was around 400F which is within tolerance. According to the Web manufacturer's website: Zinc plated - For applications to 315°C (600°F) <<< this Aluminized - For applications from 315°C to 650°C (600°F to 1200°F) Stainless steel - For applications over 1200 ° F ( 650 ° C) Overall I am satisfied and will continue to use it. Just plan on letting it "fizzle out" the first time you use it.
