I don't know why people write bad reviews about this product but I suspect it's because they bought the wrong product they wanted to use. Within 10 minutes of opening the box it was working as stated by Seagate on my Windows 7 PC. Five minutes later it was working as stated by Seagate on my iMac. Both backups started immediately and simultaneously. It installed quickly and without any fuss on both computers. The dashboard is easy to use and works as advertised. Only one very small element confused me, which is that the quick start guide says to look out for "white light and green light" but it's actually "blue light and green light" so obviously they have the color changed. Light but not updated the manual. No big deal, it still works exactly as promised by Seagate. I suggest people read the descriptions and research to make sure they are buying the product for their needs. Just because something doesn't serve a purpose doesn't mean it's flawed or poorly made. The software is there, on the disc, contrary to what some people say. Yes, Seagate charges $9.95 for the multi-user version, but they also give you $9.95 credit toward future purchases, and that $9.95 fee is a one-time fee. If this is a killer deal, then so be it. I recommend this product for both Windows 7 and Mac.
