I bought this and the FLIR One to compare PCB hotspot detection. About the same price, same resolution, I thought they were comparable. I prefer something that I don't have to connect to my phone to use, so I was hoping this would be a winner. I've compared each to the Adafruit USB isolator because I know the ADuM5000 and ADuM4160 chips get pretty hot. Where the FLIR One found pretty good overall temperature coverage, the IR0002 couldn't even spot the ADuM5000, which is the hotter of the two chips. It's like the heatmap is rotated 90 degrees, and it's not even complete. A touch test and a comparison to the FLIR One confirmed these chips were alive and hot. I skimmed the manual to see if there are any changes I could make to improve the result, but nothing changed so it's being sent back.
